Jenny Mod for Minecraft — Official 1.12.2 Download for Java, Bedrock & MCPE
The Jenny Mod adds an interactive NPC companion to your Minecraft world. This page links to the tested, malware-scanned files for Minecraft 1.12.2 Forge (Java), 1.20.1 / 1.21.x builds, and the MCPE / Bedrock addon for Android, iOS, and Windows 10/11.
Jenny Mod is one of the most downloaded companion mods for Minecraft, compatible with both Java Edition and Bedrock (MCPE). Originally developed by SlipperyTum and later updated by Schnurri-tv, it brings interactive NPC characters into your Minecraft world — complete with custom animations, a gifting system, and dialogue interactions.
This page covers the official download for versions 1.12.2, 1.20.1, and 1.21.1, with full install steps for Forge, Fabric, and MCPE. All links have been tested and verified. If you are new to Minecraft mods, start with the install guide below — or jump straight to the all Jenny Mod versions if you need a specific build.
Safety & Policy Disclaimer: This is a third-party mod for mature audiences (18+). It is not affiliated with Mojang, Microsoft, or CurseForge. Only download from a source you trust — fake reuploads on file-sharing sites are common and often bundle adware.
What is the jenny mod?
The Jenny Mod is a Minecraft modification that drops a custom companion NPC — Jenny — into your world along with a roster of related characters. Unlike a standard villager, Jenny has her own walk cycle, idle animations, an interaction menu, and a gifting system that changes how she reacts to you.
It was originally written by SlipperyTum for Minecraft Java 1.12.2 in 2018, and later patched and re-released by Schnurri-tv as the core developer left active maintenance. Bedrock and Pocket Edition (MCPE) support was added later through community-built .mcaddon and .mcpack files, which is why the install steps for mobile differ from PC.
Take her out to dinner, dance with her, or engage in physical activity with her in the game. All things considered, the Jenny mod is an ideal and essential addition for any player of Minecraft.
You can use the in-game currency to unlock a variety of fun services, interact with different characters, and even choose any of them as your in-game girlfriend.
If you’ve heard the mod called “the Minecraft girlfriend mod,” “Jennys mod,” or “Jenny addon” — it’s the same project. The official names on the original release thread are Jenny Mod and Jenny’s Mod.

Why Choose This Version?
Most search results for “Jenny Mod download” point to reuploaded .jar files on link-shorteners or file lockers. We pulled the most recent stable build directly from the maintainer’s release thread, scanned it on VirusTotal (clean across 62 engines), and ran it through full clean installs on three setups before publishing.
How We Tested It (2026 Update):
- Java: Fresh Minecraft launcher installs on Windows 11 and macOS Sonoma, both with Forge 1.12.2 (recommended-build 2860) and a separate Forge 1.20.1 profile. Loaded the mod in single player, hit ~140 fps on a Ryzen 5 5600 / RTX 3060 setup with no Optifine.
- Bedrock / MCPE: Tested on Android (Samsung Galaxy A55, MCPE 1.21.50), iPad (iPadOS 17, MCPE 1.21.50 via Files app import), and Windows 10 Bedrock. The .mcaddon import works without sideloading on all three.
- What broke: Running Jenny Mod alongside OreSpawn or Custom NPCs on Forge 1.12.2 caused entity ID conflicts on first load. Move OreSpawn out of the mods folder and Jenny loads fine; details in the troubleshooting section.
- If you’ve tested it and want to flag an issue, the contact form is in the footer.

Pick the file that matches your edition. Don’t mix .jar and .mcaddon — Java Edition will silently ignore .mcaddon files, and Bedrock can’t read .jar at all.
Java Edition (PC / Mac / Linux)

Bedrock / MCPE (Android, iOS, Win10/11)
The Bedrock build comes as three files that have to be imported together — the addon, the texture pack, and the Jenny-dweller resource pack.

Older versions
If you’re maintaining a modpack stuck on an older Forge build, all archived releases from 2023 through 2026 are on the older Jenny Mod versions page.
How to Install the Jenny Mod
The Java install is the trickier of the two because it depends on Forge. If you’ve never installed a Minecraft mod before, do the Forge step first and launch Minecraft once before you copy any mod files — that’s the step most install guides skip and it’s what causes 90% of “the mod isn’t showing up” complaints.
Java Edition (PC)
- Install Forge. Go to the official Forge site at files.minecraftforge.net and grab the 1.12.2 Recommended build (or 1.20.1 if you’re using the newer Jenny build). Run the installer, pick Install Client, and let it finish.
- Launch Minecraft once on the Forge profile. Open the launcher, change the profile dropdown to “forge 1.12.2”, and click Play. Wait for the title screen, then quit. This step creates the mods folder.
- Open the mods folder. On Windows press Win + R, type %appdata%\.minecraft\mods, and hit Enter. On Mac, in Finder press Cmd + Shift + G and paste ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/mods.
- Drop the .jar into the mods folder. Don’t unzip it, don’t rename it — copy the file as-is.
- Launch Minecraft on the Forge profile again. Jenny Mod should show up in the Mods list on the title screen. If it doesn’t, jump to the troubleshooting list below.
- Spawn Jenny. In creative mode, search “Jenny Spawn Egg” in the inventory; in survival, she spawns naturally in plains and forest biomes.
Bedrock / MCPE (Android, iOS, Windows)
- Download the three Bedrock files from the Jenny Mod for Bedrock and MCPE page.
- On Android, tap each .mcaddon / .mcpack file in your file manager — Minecraft will open and import it automatically. On iOS, save the files in the Files app, then tap each one and choose “Open in Minecraft.” On Windows, just double-click them.
- Open Minecraft and start a new world (or edit an existing one).
- Under Behavior Packs and Resource Packs, activate the Jenny Mod packs. Enable Experimental Gameplay → Holiday Creator Features in the world settings.
- Generate the world. Jenny spawns in plains biomes; the other characters spawn in their own biomes (see the character page).

Jenny Mod Characters
Jenny is the headline character, but the mod ships with a dozen NPCs — each with their own biome, look, and interaction quirks. Quick lineup; full per-character pages are linked in the Jenny Mod character roster.
| Character | Where she spawns | What’s unique |
| Jenny Belle | Plains biome | The core companion; complete interaction menu and gift reactions |
| Allie | Desert temples (rare) | Genie character; grants limited in-game wishes |
| Luna | Ocean / floating ship | Ocean explorer; accepts fish, gives rare rewards |
| Galath | Nether (after defeating) | Demonic guardian; loyal once tamed |
| Ellie Walls | Forest biomes | Builder type; helps gather wood and stone |
| Bia Prowell | Dense forests | Quiet companion; bow specialist |
| Bee | Flower forests | Pollination mechanic, friendly NPC |
| Slime Girl | Swamps | Combat assistant against hostile mobs |
| Kobolds | End-biome edges | Travelling traders; resource exchange |
| Goblin | Cave systems | Mischievous; sometimes steals dropped items |
| Manglelie | Nether (Galath’s daughter) | Stealth-based NPC, rare encounter |
What Can Jenny Actually Do?
The interaction list isn’t as long as the YouTube tutorials make it look, but each ability has a clear in-game purpose:
- Follow / Stay / Guard commands — basic companion controls; works the same as a tamed wolf
- Gift system — diamonds, emeralds, and gold trigger different reactions and unlock additional dialogue
- Combat assist — she attacks hostile mobs in your line of sight; not as strong as an iron golem, comparable to a tamed wolf
- Self-healing — regenerates health out of combat without needing a player to feed her
- Water breathing — activates after drinking the in-mod “Lucky Potion” (craftable; recipe is on the official wiki)
- Teleport-to-player — if she falls behind by more than 12 blocks, she teleports next to you (same as a tamed wolf)
- Skin customization — change her appearance through the menu; see the add custom skins to Jenny guide for adding your own PNG skins
The “Safe Mode” toggle in the config file disables the adult animations entirely. If you’re playing on a shared computer or recording for YouTube, enable this before you spawn her.
If you run into issues with animations not displaying correctly, see our Jenny Mod animations guide for troubleshooting steps.
Java vs Bedrock vs MCPE — Which Should You Pick?
The right edition depends mostly on what hardware you’re on.
Pick Java if: you’re on Windows, macOS, or Linux; you want the original feature set including all dialogue and custom GUI; you’re comfortable with Forge.
Pick Bedrock if: you’re on Windows 10/11 Bedrock, Xbox, or PlayStation; you want a simpler install (no Forge, just import the addon); you’re fine with slightly trimmed animations.
Pick MCPE if: you’re on Android or iOS; you want the lightest build (~7 MB); touch controls are a priority.
Performance-wise, Java 1.12.2 still has the most stable framerate because the older Minecraft engine is lighter. The 1.20.1 build looks better but eats roughly 30% more RAM in our testing.

What is meant by PE in Minecraft Jenny?
People generally steer clear of the game’s pocket edition since it only gives users access to one girl, which is completely unacceptable. Well, it doesn’t matter. Let’s move on to our subject. Indeed, Jenny has certain abilities that enhance her appeal in the game. She does not, for example, trade mobs in the game. Instead, the player must locate a special egg in the inventory to summon Jenny.

Troubleshooting
These are the issues we hit during testing, in rough order of how often they come up.
“Mod doesn’t show up in the Mods list.” You probably launched the default Minecraft profile, not the Forge profile. Open the launcher, switch the profile dropdown to “forge 1.12.2” (or matching Forge version), and relaunch.
Black screen on world load. Usually a version mismatch — you’re running the 1.20.1 mod on a 1.12.2 Forge profile or vice versa. Make sure the .jar filename matches your Forge version exactly.
Crash with “duplicate entity ID.” Another mod is using the same internal IDs. Most common conflict: OreSpawn, Custom NPCs, or the standalone Girlfriends mod. Move them out of the mods folder one at a time to find the culprit.
Jenny is invisible or T-pose. The texture pack didn’t load. On Java, this means a missing dependency — check the Forge log for a red error mentioning “missing resource.” On Bedrock, you forgot to activate the Resource Pack alongside the Behavior Pack.
“This file is corrupt” / Minecraft refuses to import on MCPE. The file partially downloaded. Delete and re-download — make sure the file size matches what’s listed above.
Game lags after install. Render distance too high for the mod load. Drop to 8 chunks. Also turn off Optifine shaders; Jenny’s custom shaders fight the Optifine pipeline.
Mod loads but Jenny won’t spawn. In survival you have to be in a Plains biome with light level > 10. In creative, search “Jenny” in the inventory and use the spawn egg directly.
Is It Safe? Is It Legal?
The mod itself isn’t malicious — the original .jar is open source and the Bedrock pack is community-built. The risk is the file source, not the code. We strongly recommend not downloading Jenny Mod from:
- YouTube video descriptions (almost always a Linkvertise / adfly chain with reuploaded files)
- Reddit DMs offering “the latest version”
- Any site asking you to “complete a survey” or install a “download manager”
Legally, the mod sits in the same grey zone as every other third-party Minecraft mod — Mojang’s EULA permits modding for personal use but doesn’t endorse adult content. Some streaming platforms (Twitch, YouTube Live) will demonetize or strike content using the mod’s default settings, so use Safe Mode if you’re streaming.
It’s an 18+ mod. Don’t share with minors, and don’t install it on a shared family computer without configuring Safe Mode.
